2021 Australian of the Year – Grace Tame
Iona College, in conjunction with the Iona Old Boys Association, welcomed Australian of the Year, Grace Tame.
We sincerely thank all our guests for joining with us virtually to share in what was a truly powerful and inspirational message delivered by Grace.
The pivot to an online virtual platform presented a unique opportunity for engagement, and we hope that you felt genuinely connected.
At Grace’s request, a number of measures were put in place to ensure that her story was shared in a space that was controlled, safe and measured. There are a number of reasons why this was necessary, and out of respect for her request we are unable to release a recording of her raw, honest and confronting presentation to the wider community. One of Grace’s key messages focused on listening to the voices of survivors, and we thank you for respecting Grace’s wishes in this regard.
