Years 11 and 12

In Years 11 and 12, students embark on the post-compulsory phase of schooling.

As a Catholic school, we believe that each person has God-given gifts, talents and identity and therefore we can cater a program to suit all students. This makes the senior phase a very exciting stage for our students.  Students select a course from the following range of subjects.  All students complete an English and Mathematics program of study.  In addition, Iona College is conducting a trial of Catholic Studies, a faith in action model that supports students in life beyond Year 12.

At Iona College, we support students who wish to pursue and achieve an ATAR for tertiary study.  Recent years have allowed students to gain access to courses of first preference, including Medicine.  Similarly, students wishing to pursue School Based Apprenticeships or vocational pathways also receive guidance and support through the process.  It is our inclusivity and diversity that allows our college to remain the vibrant and positive atmosphere of which we are proud.

Many students experience their senior years of study as being among the best of their lives.  Academic success and intellectual and human development are linked with involvement and therefore, in addition to focusing on their studies, we encourage our students to participate in and make a contribution to the religious life and co-curricular activities of the college. In this way, they ensure their final years of schooling are memorable and rewarding.
