Annual Oblate Mission Action Day Appeal
Annual Oblate Mission Action Day Appeal
Oblate Mission Action Day (OMAD) on Friday 23 August 2019 is the major College fundraising effort for Oblate Missions.
Many thanks to everyone that played their role on OMAD. We had the most activities ever, this meant students had plenty of events to enjoy.
After the morning Liturgy, which was presented by our College’s NET team, the students ran the Mazenod Mile. The new activities this year included the Rock Climbing Wall, Giant Tag Game, the Japanese Departments’ Gyoza Stall, Darts Competition, the Science Fun Room, Dodge Ball Competition and Hen Zen.
The usual events continued this year including: the Golf Ball Challenge, Putt Putt Game, Lob a Choc, Games Room, Chill Out Zone, the Lolly Wheel, Cebula Raffle, Basketball Competition, Football Competition, Hotshots, Table Tennis, Choc Pong, Nerf Room, Push Up Competition, Buskers, Face Painting, DJ Room and Iona’s Got Talent. It was great to see so many students and staff working together at these events.
The winners of Iona’s Got Talent this year were:
- 1st Broken Maracas (Year 10)
- 2nd Harrison Turner (Year 11)
- 3rd Victor Hardy (Year 6)
- People Choice Award went to Broken Maracas
On the oval, there was plenty of sporting action with the Mazenod Mile and Student vs Staff games. The results were:
- Senior Staff vs Students Touch – 4-3 to the Staff
- Senior Staff vs Students Football – 0-2 to the Students
- Primary Staff vs Students Touch – 6-1 to the Staff
- Primary Staff vs Students Football – 2-2
Congratulations to Will Quinn for winning the Senior Gift and Jett Huckin for winning the Junior Gift.
The Staff Challenge this year was Staff’aoke. Nine staff members found their inner “Queen” and belted out some legendary performances.
There was the usual array of food from the tuckshop, pizza, donuts, BBQ and cupcakes. This year we also had the popular Potato Tornado van.
A special thanks goes to all the parents who helped on the day, baked some delights, donated some prizes and returned their donation envelopes.
