Cricket teaches young men to accept both wins and losses graciously, and promotes the importance of team work and respect for others.
Every Saturday during Term 1, more than 500 boys represent Iona on the cricket field, in the AIC competition.
The 1st XI has enjoyed great success over a long period and has gained AIC premierships in 1999, 2000, 2004, 2006, 2007 and 2011. The 1st XI also competes every year for the Oblate Cup between Mazenod Colleges in Perth and Melbourne, which acts as a valuable pre-season competition.
