QUT and Iona Coral Research Study

QUT and Iona Coral Research Study

QUT and Iona are working together to study how corals from Moreton Bay are adapting. Over 35 species of corals found in Moreton Bay will be studied over a 12 to 18 month period by Iona’s Marine Studies’ students. Brett Lewis from QUT will use the data collected at Iona and work with us to analyse the scientific findings.
Moreton Bay is perfect to be able to establish how the Great Barrier Reef and all reefs globally are going to be able to mitigate or survive the stress of global warming and influx of sediment from developments, dredging and flooding, and which corals we can expect will do well in those environments and why.
