2016 Aerospace Education Awards

These annual awards are open to each of the 18 Queensland Aerospace Gateway Schools and, this year, there was a total of 48 student and teacher nominations across 11 award categories. Congratulations to the four Iona students, Sean Adey-McCaul (Year 12), Nicholas Vardanega (Year 11), Lachlan Haynes (Year 10) and Matthew Riddle (Year 11) and teacher, Mr Chris Howarth, who were all finalists this year in 5 award categories. Our very special congratulations to Sean who won the Year 12 Aerospace Studies Award (sponsored by Airways Aviation) and to Nicholas who won the Year 11 Aerospace Studies Award (sponsored by Brisbane Airport Corporation). Congratulations also to Matthew who was the runner-up for the Flightscope Aviation Pilot Scholarship Award.
